Does Lisper send my voice anywhere?
No. Lisper has no transcription server. The Whisper speech model ships inside the app and runs on your Mac or iPhone. Recordings are processed and discarded; transcripts are saved only on your device.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Because transcription happens on your device, dictation works in airplane mode.
What does it cost?
Lisper is a free download with 5 minutes of dictation to try it. After that, a single one-time unlock of €5.99 covers both Mac and iPhone, and Family Sharing is supported. No subscription.
Which devices are supported?
Mac with macOS 14 or later, iPhone with iOS 16 or later, and Apple Watch with watchOS 26 or later alongside an iPhone running Lisper. On Mac, Lisper works best on Apple silicon.
Does Lisper work on Apple Watch?
Yes. A Lisper button in your watch's Control Center starts and stops a recording with the watch's own mic. Your iPhone transcribes it on-device and saves it to your Lisper timeline. It needs watchOS 26 or later and an iPhone with Lisper, and it's part of the same app and the same €5.99 unlock.
How does dictation work on the Mac?
Press ⌥ Space anywhere, speak, then press it again. Lisper transcribes on your Mac and copies the text, ready to paste into any app. You can change the hotkey in Settings › Shortcuts.
What are dictation modes?
Modes such as Vanilla, Professional, Developer, Email, Slack and Raw label and organise your local transcripts for different destinations. Each has its own hotkey, and you can create your own in Settings.
